The Blackfyre Sword
Book 2 - Chapter 2, part 1

Nightal 13 1337

Informed of a weapon of great power that was stolen from House Duskryn, they are tasked to go find the weapon, before Duskryn agents get it back. Lyme’s spy network and with “help” of Celeena, found that it seems to have been stolen by Tirana Nasadra. She has taken it to an hidden House Nasadra outpost in the underdark.

Inside they find a wild variety of creatures and traps. House Nasadra also has some very complex machines in the complex.

Notes found on the sword
Blackfyre is one of the two of twin steel swords Paton Wyvernspur bought from a wizard in Silverymoon.

Blackfyre was passed from from father to son, until Gerrin I Wyvernspur chose to bestow it to Aiken, his bastard son instead of his legitimate son, whom he suspected was actually fathered by his brother. Some felt that the sword symbolized the monarchy, so the gift was the seed from which the Blackfyre Rebellion grew.

During the Blackfyre Rebellion the Aiken continued to wield the sword in battle, and fought an epic duel with Ser Gwayne Corbray at the Battle of the Redgrass Field, pitted against Gwayne’s blade Lady Forlorn.

After the death of Aiken and his twin sons on the Redgrass Fields, his half brother, Aegor, took Blackfyre with him in exile. The sword’s current whereabouts are unknown.

Nasadra Vault
Book 2, Chapter 1

Nightal 5 1337

Tasked to enter a long forgotten vault of House Nasadraby Matron Vondril, the party has a bit of trouble with the door to the vault. Finally once inside they encounter more of the same female drow they have ran into in the past. Veldrin Infroms the group that they are called the ‘Devils Claw’. After dealing with two females they find a trap door with a ladder that leads down.

In a small room the find an unusual door and some stone disks set into the wall. After a mishap they find the right combination and get though the door. Stairs lead down to a store room of some sort where they fight two bearded devils.

Beyond that room lies a long hallway with a long female in it. Vledrin charges down the hallway to attack but sets off a trap and a blade swings out of the wall and nearly kills him.

In the lower chamber, which appears to be some sort of library they find Celeena. She puts up a fight with her hell hounds, but surrenders in the end. They find the documents they are looking for and take them and Celeena back to House Olanrae.

When you return home Maya and Xuna take Celeena. You can only guess as to what foul plans they have for her.

Veldrin Down time

I have spent most of my time, over the last few months, in my quarters. I have transformed my quarters into the finest Alchemy lab i could develop. With the help of Amblik I was able to extract and develop powerful fiendish spider poisons. I spent weeks crafting, slow burn alchemical arrows that combust once they hit a target. I also crafted a few alchemical weapons id like to work into our Houses defenses, flash powder and pellet grenades. I also studied the spores i received from the Old Wizard. I have been unsuccessful in propagating the spore sample. My level of alchemical crafting skill is not great enough to create a viable culture. When he could find the time, I also employed the services of Nyill in casting Crafter’s Fortune on me from a wand i purchased. All work and no play is no fun. From time-to-time I venture to my favorite taverns and brothels to indulge in the pleasures and chaos of Menzoberranzan.

I also picked up a eye patch

Nyll's Downtime

Over these past few months I have remained vigilant in my studies. Trying to see what mysteries I am missing in the realm of magic. What greater power can I call upon to bend to my will. At the same time I have been doing research into Diamond Breaker to see if I can gather any knowledge on the item. I have begun to study the uncivilized language of the Dwarves. Hopefully by understanding the language I can gain a greater insite into the Duergar. I have also been working on my sword play to help build agility and help me to strike my foes. I have tried to distance myself from my adventuring family members to focus on my Intellectual research.

Zoland's 6 months of boredom

Zoland while keeping an eye on his stupid brother, Lyme… spends the next 6 months pacing around the house wanting any excuse to use his new weapon, but was chastised when discovered that he was “practicing” with some of the slaves. Seeing how the house mages can not learn the secrets of Diamondbreaker, and not willing to go outside of the house in fear of it being stolen, all Zoland can do is wait to be given a task.

Amblik's 6 month downtime

Spending restless nights focusing on my capabilities, I study all manner beasts and creatures able and willing to hear my bloods beckon. My abilities have vastly increased and I am eager to know the limits of the power in my blood and the beings willing to serve it.

I seek to commune with my summons more aptly. That would take years and years of research and language deduction that I don’t have the patience for. It SHOULD be able to flow through me just as my magic and my abilities to call upon them.

The spell Comprehend Languages should fix my problem but it doesn’t have the lasting effectiveness I require for the variety of beings I am capable of calling upon. I must find an item that gives me the flexibility to communicate directly at a whim as to better manage the flow of combat.

While not studying the capabilities of the creatures I can call, I have enjoyed relaxing in the taverns and gambling halls where I have found myself taking the gold from those so easily fooled with a little bluff.

Kythorn 7 & 8 1337

Finishing off the rest of the underground complex they find the wizard. But it seems that that human female was playing a little game with them.

Returning to the House Matron Vondrill is very pleased with want they have found and that they recovered Diamondbreaker. She tasks Zoland with wielding it and to learn of it’s abilities. She returns them to go about their own business. Finally the party will have some time to themselves, for it has been a wild past few months.

Lyme knows how to relax the best.
